[When the suggestion had been raised that Hikar and Taichi go shopping together, Kaoru had encouraged the idea. Perhaps a little over-enthusiastically, but he still had done what every manga said he should and stepped aside, perhaps a little against his better judgement. His estimation of the other teen was... eh. Still somewhat on the fence. But Hikaru liked him and that was important.
Instead, he had spent the day in Kicchi's company, researching the fashion of this place. Or whatever passed for it - the more he looks, the more convinced he is becoming that if they want there to be good taste in this city, they'll have to be the ones who make it.

what? this is such a specific question? and it depends on the kind of humor because there's gross comedies and those are full of dumb humor. there's nothing about mary was really dumb but the jokes you need to see. gross out humor relies on sight so yeah, stay away from those. they're not even funny. they rely too much on stupid jokes.

-A White Day greeting card that says "Happy White Day!" on the front. Inside are the following:A hotel key card with the address written in a paper around it. A V Card that shines in the light. A hand-written note on the inside of the card that says "I'm ready and waiting for you, Hikaru!"
They will be alerted to the presence of these by a delivery man bringing both Hikaru and Kaoru fresh hot (pricy) crepes for breakfast around 9am. (Because.. he felt like it was unfair to only feed Hikaru, okay?!)
And with that, Taichi will be spending the day in a hotel room working himself up into a bundle of nerves that he brought upon himself. ]

[Surprise doesn't begin to cover how Hikaru feels. It was no flash mob but obviously Taichi has gone all out on whatever he has planned. Hikaru had a gift, they'd talked about a date today, but this is a lot. All for White Day? The chocolates that Hikaru had bought weren't that special and it makes Hikaru's White Day gift seem really meager in comparison which was just a romance movie Hikaru bought for him that he'd really enjoyed.

[ Being woken up early on his birthday probably wasn't something that Hikaru a. Expected or b. Wanted. But given the nature of the mission at hand, it had to be first thing in the morning. Before Hikaru was surrounded by a hundred people trying to gain his attention (while Taichi wanted all the attention on the side lines) and he couldn't really have a moment alone with him. He knew that birthdays weren't so much an intimate, heartfelt moment for the Hitachiin brothers, which is why he has to be here first thing in the morning. It's the only possible time to make it intimate, to leave a lasting impression that will make this birthday worth something more than a chance to network.

If it were anybody else, Hikaru would put it on silent and go back to sleep but it's Taichi.

[ It took a while of bothering Merlin to get one properly, but when Hikaru arrives at the dining hall (only chairs toward the end so that they may meet together), they will be served properly with tea and a dish, complete with yubari king melon balls. He's a man who remembers things he learns about people and in general, is very good with them. But Hikaru is right that he cannot speak to every person in Avalon at all times. Most people he speaks with seem to ally themselves, but so long as he is actually doing his job, he cannot reasonably speak to everyone regularly. He misses the time when the only meetings he had were with people in person and most governance was done through delegating to nobles and townships within his kingdom. Every person having a say in how you are doing is genuinely jarring. The lady known as Belgium thought he had an image problem as well, but Hikaru is the first to offer to do something about it- and the resume is a nice touch. He seems to be both of noble birth and experience, despite his previous rudeness.
Arthur intends on finding out if his offer to help is genuine or not during this meeting, but upon the new year, it may be good to have additional help for this. ]
