[ He sets the oatmeal aside and starts getting out the utensils (actual metal at least, even if they aren't fancy, but they're better than plastic takeout ones). ]
[Hikaru had been joking when he said it was romantic but this really did feel romantic. This feels like one of the most romantic things they've done and it's all because Taichi wanted to do something nice for Hikaru's birthday.
And that really makes it more special.]

[His heart is beating way too quickly for his liking and so he sits up, grinning.] Feed me! It's my birthday so you can do that much, too. [He can't stay too serious, something that's well-known about him by now.]
Of course! It's hot though so I'm doing it with the utensils so no making it sexy.
[ Taichi sits up to grab the super fancy breakfast and gets a spoon ready. They're on a roof, he already is sure that if they get sexy, they're going to accidentally knock something off of it and if it's the gift in the box, they will both die inside.
So he cuts and then holds out a spoonful to Hikaru's lips. ]
I could still be sexy if I wanted to. Lucky for you it's too early for me to want to even try. [Honestly, getting sexy on the roof seems like a bad idea anyway.
He opens his mouth and leans in to take a bite off of the fork. As he chews thoughtfully, he isn't unhappy.] Not too bad. Quality is at least good.
Burn it into your brain, but I'll tell you whenever you want.
[ He's going to lean forward to kiss his cheek, but there's a fork with food on it, so he diverts his path to take a bit, even making an "omn" sound as he puts his mouth over it. He hums happily as he chews. ]
Mm.. it reminds me of something Omi-kun would make! [ One day, Hikaru will realize that Taichi has been basically living off of a gourmet chef and a curry expert back home and still likes junk food like a heathen. ]
[Hikaru has believed this entire time that maybe, just maybe, if he introduces Taichi to good quality then he can change his diet for the better. Like sure, Taichi has mentioned Omi makes him food but in Hikaru's mind, unless you're rich, then what could he possibly be making? Probably not anything that amazing, right?]
Not all day, but he'd make all kinds of different things since cooking was one of his passions. He's make like, quiche and fancy desserts, and one time he showed me how to make roses out of tomatoes.
[ He could definitely be a culinary chef... but he's going to college for photography, and acting as a job, living in the theater. Thank god, or else they'd be eating curry day in and out. ]
He makes good omelettes, too, but I don't think he used all the fancy stuff in this.
[Hikaru takes his bite as he thinks over what Taichi's telling him. Fancy, for Taichi, is very different than what Hikaru considers fancy. But from everything else, it doesn't sound like the same basic food that Taichi likes of low quality...]
So this guy's food or hot dogs, which are you going for?
Eh? Well, usually Omi-kun's food. I can't have hot dogs all the time. It's more like.. as a food type, hot dogs and other meats are my favorite. But if Omi is cooking, then his food is better.
[ It's made with love! And talent. ]
Like if Omi-kun made meat, I'll eat Omi-kun's meat before I eat someone else's.
[ he hopes this makes sense. He does have some vague taste, he just likes junk food. but high quality junk food is high quality, you know?? ]

[ ..He makes a face and takes a bite of his own before prepping Hikaru's next bite. ]
[They've been dating for almost six months now but no matter what, some things are never going to change. Taichi walks into the perfect opening and Hikaru is taking it.]
Eh, so you'd rather eat his meat than mine? Should I be jealous that Taichi-senpai prefers another man's meat? Here I thought mine was stately and everything.
[He takes the bite that Taichi offers him, pouting.]
[Hikaru swallows his bite and laughs, not even bothering to mute himself even if it's stupidly early. Neither of them are being very polite considering their volume.]
Oh? [He's grinning, amused.] Saying lines like that while you feed me and we sit on a roof, watching the sunrise on my birthday. I could swoon~ My boyfriend's so romantic, making my heart race like this. [He leans in close and puts his head on Taichi's shoulder.] Taichi-senpai is so cool.
[Trying to fluster Taichi is truly the gift that keeps on giving.]
[Once Hikaru feels how heavy it is, he immediately knows what it is. Opening it isn't much of a surprise but he does look down at it, silent for only a short moment, before he starts laughing.]
I guess you made good on what you tried to do back in February. [He stops laughing and smiles, kissing Taichi's cheek.] I really do have the most thoughtful boyfriend ever, huh?
Hehe, I just want to make you happy.. and I know you really wanted that!
[ Taichi just looks like he's on cloud-9 thanks to Hikaru calling him thoughtful and kissing his cheek. ] But, you know, if you want to thank me properly, it's gotta be here.
[Honestly, Hikaru doesn't even care so much about expensive fruit but something about it had been very aggravating. Not being able to afford something like that. But there's something far more special about Taichi getting him one.
Even as Hikaru doesn't think about how much money this must have been.
He kisses the corner of Taichi's mouth, smirking.] I can thank you even more properly tonight. I could kiss you anywhere. [And then he kisses Taichi's lips after being a jerk.]
[ Taichi lets out a little moan into the kiss after such a statement, then about two seconds later makes a sound that sound like he'd be saying "HEY!" if his lips weren't occupied.
...He still keeps going with the smooth for a full three seconds after that sound though. ]
Don't turn me on on the roof, I'm gonna fall off and you'll become a widow on your birthday!
[ He smiles, too happy despite the teasing. ] I get to be the first person you talk to today and the last person you talk to before you go to sleep. Except for Kaoru, anyway.
[ He has no doubt that somehow Kaoru is involved in talking to him but he's fine with it. He just makes sure to include so Hikaru doesn't think he forgot about him. ]
